19 March 2009
Mr Chris Atkin, Executive Head of the Dover Catholic Federation of Schools (St Richard's and St Edmund's) will be putting on his running shoes for a extraordinary 26 mile run, as he joins thousands in raising money in the Flora London Marathon 2009. He explains his reasoning: 'On 26th April 2009 a month short of my 53rd Birthday, I will be running the Flora London Marathon to raise money for Children with Leukaemia. I will run in honour of Jake Owen, a pupil of St Edmund’s who late last year eventually lost his three year battle with the disease, aged 17. I would like to raise £2000 and would appreciate sponsorship no matter how small. Log onto: www.bmycharity.com/chrisatkin. Thank you.' We wish him every success for what is certain to be a great achievement!
